Bird-a-thon - May 2008

Every May, Audubon members around the world participate in Birdathon. This is an event where birders get pledges from friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, etc., then the birders go out on a selected day and count as many species as possible. All funds raised go to ASGD and stay in Denver.

If you are interested in helping to organize the Birdathon or in collecting pledges and having birding fun while helping ASGD, give us a call.

Bird-a-thon 2008 Pledge Sheet (MS Word)

How it Works:

Grab your binoculars and field guide.

Pick your own day & location anytime during the month of May.

Ask friends, family, neighbors, businesses and anyone else you meet to sponsor you. Let sponsors know that they are supporting a local, non-profit organization that you believe in.

Pledge per Species – This is the most common way to collect pledges for Bird-a-thon. For example, let’s say that your sponsor pledges $1 per species and you spot 43 different species on Bird-a-thon Day. The sponsor would then donate $43 to your Bird-a-thon.

Flat Donation – Sometimes folks will say, “How about I just give you a $25 donation?” That’s fine. Just write the amount in the last column titled “Total Donation.”

To register for Bird-a-thon call 303-973-9530 to register & collect a minimum of $30 in pledges.

Turn in your pledges by June 7, 2008.

Bird-a-thon Prizes

A Grand Prize will be awarded to the individual who collects the most money.

High Flyers: Collect $250 or more in pledges and you get to pick a prize from the Audubon treasure trove (books, feeders, artwork, goodies to eat, and more).
