Conservation in Colorado – Renewable Energy

Meet at Breckenridge Brewery in the Tasting Room for beers, a bit of education, conversation, and inspiration to take action for birds, other wildlife, and their habitats.
Preston E. Gibson, Area Manager, Community and Local Government Affairs with Xcel will share the company Carbon Vision Plan. Xcel Energy was the first large utility to announce plans to produce carbon free electricity by 2050. They are leading the way as the number one wind energy utility in the country and are new developing plans for transportation electrification
Suzy Hiskey, Conservation Coordinator, will share Audubon’s position on renewables and touch on research concerning renewable energy source impacts on birds.
Courtney Kiel, Protected Species Observer, will share how her role addresses environmental concerns and mitigation in the renewable energy field. Learn about the role of a Protected Species Observer as it relates to environmental monitoring and mitigation for wind farm placement exploration.
