Our focus today is wintering songbirds, ducks and geese on the South Platte River in the area south of Overland Pond. Many of the ducks should be easily viewed from trails along the river. Walk mainly over grass and along a paved trail. Be prepared for possible snowy or icy conditions. Feel free to bring a scope or camera.
Meeting Place: The paved parking lot at Grant Frontier on the west side of the Platte River, south of Evans. If coming from the east side of the river, you can cross the river at Dartmouth and turn right or cross at Evans and turn left. If the lot is full, there is parking along S. Platte River Drive, north of the paved lot. The paved lot is just south of the pedestrian bridge.
