April 6 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Join us for a look at early spring ducks in Northglenn and Thornton at Webster Lake and East Lake Nature Preserve. The birds will be in their breeding plumage and we may see courtship behavior. We should also see coots and gulls on the lakes, and songbirds and possible raptors in the surrounding trees. We will be using a scope for up-close looks, so please bring yours if you have one. If you have a field guide, you might want to become familiar with female ducks so that you can match up the pairs when you see them.
Meeting Place: Webster Lake. Take I-25 to 120th Ave., then head east to Grant St. (3 blocks). Turn south on Grant, which becomes Community Center Dr. The entrance to the parking lot is on the left, about ¼ mile, across from Stone Mountain Apts. and the Northglenn City buildings.
The East Lake Nature Preserve parking area is off of 128th and Fillmore Ct.
