Roxborough State Park

Walk along the 3 mile South Rim Trail in Roxborough State Park, exploring different unique habitats, such as scrub oak, cliffs, grassland, riparian forest, and deciduous forest, while enjoying the beautiful views of the Red Rock formations. We will look and listen for fall and winter residents of this Front Range park, especially Dark-eyed Juncos, raptors, woodpeckers, and other birds adapted to colder weather. This trip is for all levels of birders, and beginners are especially welcome. What to bring: binoculars, hat, sun screen, water, and a snack if desired; scopes are optional Meeting Place: In front of the Visitor Center of Roxborough State Park. Leaders: Audubon Master Birders Bea Weaver, Ruth Gabreski, and Tina Leslie Registration required. Limited to 16 participants. Difficulty: Easy to moderate Colorado State Park Pass or day pass (fee) required.
