Birding Hotline Volunteer

Do you love talking about birds and helping others learn more about the natural world? Join our Birding Hotline Volunteer Program and become a go-to resource for bird-related questions from the public!
As a hotline volunteer, you’ll act as an ambassador of Denver Audubon and help respond to phone calls and emails from community members who are curious about bird identification, local sightings, nesting behaviors, injured birds, backyard birding, and more.
Whether you're directing someone to the right resources or sharing your own knowledge, you'll play a key role in connecting people to nature, and to Denver Audubon. Training will be provided.
When: Variable, depending on volunteer’s schedule and commitment.
Where: Remote.
Volunteer Requirements:
- Must be an experienced birder, and be familiar with local and migrating bird species. Ideally, the volunteer has a background in environmental sciences, wildlife biology, or similar education.
- Be confident and comfortable answering phone calls and/or responding to emails.
- Be willing to research and look for answers independently before reaching out to staff.
- Enjoys helping people with their nature-related questions.
