At this time, we’re only accepting volunteer applications for the following opportunities:
Birders on Bikes, Nature Preschool, and Field Trip Leaders.
If you’re interested in other roles, we invite you to fill out our Volunteer Interest Form to be notified when applications open for additional opportunities in the future.
Requirements
All new Denver Audubon volunteers are required to complete the following:
- Submit an interest form.
- Follow-up interview with our Volunteer Coordinator
- If working in our youth programs, complete and pass a criminal background check (fee covered by Denver Audubon)
- Attend mandatory volunteer orientation and training on how to use our volunteer portal
- Additional training in area of interests

Youth Volunteers
We welcome youth volunteers to be involved at Denver Audubon! Youth can help with a variety of programs, including serving as Nature Center Ambassadors, assisting with community outreach, and supporting special events.
Here are a few quick guidelines:
- Ages 14–18: Welcome to volunteer independently, provided a parent or legal guardian signs our Volunteer Agreement form prior to the event.
- Ages 13 and under: Must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian during their shift.
- Orientation: All youth volunteers must watch our orientation video before participating.
