Join the Denver Audubon flock and help us build a community where people and birds flourish together! Our dedicated volunteers are active at every level, from the Kingery Nature Center to the far reaches of the Denver metro area.


No matter the role, our volunteers and staff work as one to achieve our mission: inspiring all people to love and protect birds, wildlife, and the natural world. At Denver Audubon, everyone is welcome!

Requirements

All new Denver Audubon volunteers are required to complete the following:


  • Submit an interest form.
  • Follow-up interview with our Volunteer Coordinator
  • If working in our youth programs, complete and pass a criminal background check (fee covered by Denver Audubon)
  • Attend mandatory volunteer orientation and training on how to use our volunteer portal
  • Additional training in area of interests

Youth Volunteers

We welcome youth volunteers to be involved at Denver Audubon! Youth can help with a variety of programs, including serving as Nature Center Ambassadors, assisting with community outreach, and supporting special events.


Here are a few quick guidelines:

  • Ages 14–18: Welcome to volunteer independently, provided a parent or legal guardian signs our Volunteer Agreement form prior to the event.
  • Ages 13 and under: Must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian during their shift.
  • Orientation: All youth volunteers must watch our orientation video before participating.
