Education Ambassador

Do you enjoy talking about birds and helping others connect with the natural world? This role might be a great fit for you! Education Ambassadors represent Denver Audubon by delivering engaging presentations for adult audiences in the community.

Presentations are typically 1 to 1.5 hours long and cover popular topics such as Everyday Birding for Beginners and Native Plants for Birds, with opportunities to help expand our educational offerings over time. Group sizes could range from 5-50 people.

Slide decks with detailed speaker notes are provided in advance, giving volunteers time to review the material and practice at their own pace before presenting.

When: Year-round. Weekday and weekend opportunities; occasional evening events.

Where: Kingery Nature Center and community venues throughout the Denver Metro area.

Volunteer Requirements:

  • Must be dynamic public speakers that love engaging with adult audiences.
  • Volunteers don’t need to be birding experts, but should feel comfortable speaking to groups with enthusiasm and sharing their passion for birds and nature.
  • Watch a training video or shadow a talk provided by staff or another volunteer.

Transportation to and from the presentation site is your responsibility.
