SUMMER CAMP

Kids grow better in nature!

Nature Camp 2026 registration will open on Monday, January 12.

Come play in the woods, make friends, and explore the great outdoors. Our campers build confidence and independence as they use science to understand and connect with the natural world.

General Camp Information

  • Ages 6-10 (must have completed kindergarten)
  • Times: 8:30am-3:30pm
  • Weekly sessions (Monday – Friday) from June 15 – Aug. 7. Campers can sign up for up to 3 week-long camps. See Camp Themes & Weeks below for more information.

We offer immersive, hands-on experiences that inspire young, energetic minds to become thoughtful conservationists and lifelong explorers. Our core philosophy is that playing in the great outdoors is essential. Campers will have the opportunity to play in the mud, splash in streams, learn to “tread lightly,” have fun, and form lasting friendships.

Camp Schedule

Additional information will be sent out one week prior to the camp session. Each camp is filled with games, exploration, hands-on science experiments, and playing outdoors.

  • Camp Location

Camp is at the Denver Audubon Kingery Nature Center, at the southern end of Chatfield State Park.

11280 Waterton Rd. Littleton, CO 80125.

Our Nature Center is an urban oasis with bald eagles, beavers, deer, and so many birds! We will be immersed in streams, forests, and ponds.

While we do have indoor facilities, we spend most of our time outdoors. We LOVE hot summer days – we cool down with frequent water breaks, wading ankle-deep in the river, playing water games, and adjusting the location or structure of activities, if needed.

  • Camp Themes & Weeks

Campers may attend up to three weeks total, with one week per theme. Because theme weeks are exact repeats, campers may not repeat the same theme, helping ensure every week is fun, fresh, and engaging.

Each day, we’ll explore the woods while discovering how to build a shelter, filter water, use a compass, and identify local wildlife and their tracks. Join us for a week filled with scavenger hunts, team-building games, new skills, adventure, and endless fun!
    • Epic Animal Adventures (June 22-26 OR July 20-24) Discover amazing animals up close! We’ll explore the outdoors, search for creepy crawlies, and meet live animals. Be prepared to get your hands dirty as we explore the forest and river, looking for things that fly, slither, scamper, and climb.
    • Wetland Warriors (July 6-10 OR July 27-31) Get ready, get set, get wet! Embark on exciting adventures through rivers, ponds, and wetlands – catching frogs, building beaver dams, exploring rivers and streams, and meeting live wetland animals.
